Chesterfield, VA - Fayetteville State finished second to host Virginia State in the VSU Round-up in Chesterfield, VA. The Broncos had 301 strokes on the Lake Chesdin Par 72 Golf Course for a 13 over par finish. Virginia State was the winner at 298 while Virginia Union was third at 347. Junior Kevin Lyles (Charlotte, NC) finished second with an even score behind Greg Hunt (-2) of Virginia State.

All five FSU golfers finished the course in the top ten. Joel "Chip" Lynn (junior - Sanford, NC) finished one over par with 73 strokes for the third spot on the leader board. Jeremy Ringled (junior - Hope Mills, NC) was sixth with a +5 while Derek Scott (senior - Hope Mills, NC) tied for seventh with 79 strokes. William McClure tied for ninth with an eight over par.

The two-day CIAA Eastern Division Tournament will begin tomorrow on the same Lake Chesdin Golf Course.
