A former Fayetteville State standout student-athlete, Tamarah Lowery returns to the Broncos softball program as an assistant coach after completing an impressive collegiate career marked by leadership, perseverance, and success in the circle. Lowery graduated from Fayetteville State with a degree in Sports and Fitness Management and will now help develop the next generation of Broncos student-athletes.
A native of Red Springs, North Carolina, Lowery transferred to Fayetteville State from Fayetteville Technical Community College and quickly established herself as a key contributor for the Broncos pitching staff. During the 2025 season, the left-handed pitcher appeared in nine games with seven starts, posting a 3.45 ERA over 46.2 innings pitched while recording 26 strikeouts and completing five games. Opponents batted just .276 against her, showcasing her ability to compete consistently against CIAA competition.
Before arriving at Fayetteville State, Lowery built a standout prep career at Hoke County High School, where she emerged as one of North Carolina's top pitchers. As a senior, she ranked second in the state in strikeouts, an accomplishment that highlighted her work ethic, competitive drive, and command in the circle.
Throughout her collegiate career, Lowery was recognized not only for her performance on the field but also for her dedication to mentorship and player development. She has worked with young athletes through pitching instruction and clinics, helping aspiring softball players sharpen their skills while fostering a love for the game.
As an assistant coach, Lowery brings firsthand knowledge of the Fayetteville State softball culture, a strong understanding of pitcher development, and a passion for student-athlete success. Her experience as a Bronco, combined with her leadership qualities and commitment to serving others, makes her a valuable addition to Head Coach's staff as Fayetteville State continues building a championship-caliber program.
