Abby Regalia

Abby Regalia joined Fayetteville State University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, bringing a strong foundation in athletic healthcare, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement developed through collegiate, professional, and clinical experiences.

A graduate of Central Michigan University, Regalia earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Athletic Training while also completing a minor in Leadership. Throughout her academic and clinical preparation, she gained valuable hands-on experience working with athletes at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

Most recently, Regalia completed an immersive athletic training experience with the Tucson Sugar Skulls of the Indoor Football League, where she evaluated upper- and lower-extremity injuries, developed injury prevention programs, performed rehabilitation treatments, and assisted with pre-participation physical examinations to determine athlete readiness and availability.

Prior to her work in professional football, Regalia served as an athletic training intern with the West Michigan Whitecaps, the High-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, where she assisted in player recovery programs, administered therapeutic modalities, and performed manual therapy techniques designed to support athlete health and performance throughout the baseball season.

Her experience also includes clinical rehabilitation work with The Physio Shop, where she helped guide patients through post-surgical recovery programs, conducted strength and neuromuscular assessments, and assisted athletes progressing through return-to-sport protocols following significant injuries.

During her time at Central Michigan, Regalia gained experience across multiple sports, including football, basketball, softball, and gymnastics. She conducted injury evaluations, assisted with rehabilitation planning, administered concussion baseline testing, and utilized electronic medical records systems to document patient care and treatment plans.

A certified athletic trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Regalia is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services that help student-athletes perform at their highest level while promoting their long-term health and well-being.

At Fayetteville State, Regalia works closely with the sports medicine staff to support the health, safety, and success of Bronco student-athletes both in competition and throughout their athletic careers.
