Freshman outside hitter and defensive specialist McKenna Miller arrives at Fayetteville State as one of the most accomplished multi-sport student-athletes in South Carolina. A native of Jefferson, South Carolina, Miller built an impressive legacy at Cardinal Newman School, excelling in volleyball, softball, and basketball while earning numerous awards, championships, and leadership honors.
On the volleyball court, Miller established herself as one of the state's top performers. She earned AVCA Phenom recognition twice, was a three-time Palmetto Region All-Region selection, a three-time All-Region honoree, and served as team captain during the 2024-25 season. She helped lead Cardinal Newman to three state championships and was named team MVP during the 2022-23 campaign. One of her favorite athletic memories came during the 2025 state championship match when she recorded 17 kills and two aces to help secure the title.
Miller's success extended beyond volleyball. A standout softball player since the sixth grade, she compiled 11 school records, earned All-Conference and All-Region honors three times each, and was named Softball MVP on three occasions. As a freshman, she pitched every inning of her team's 2022 state championship run. She also excelled in basketball, earning Best Offensive Player and Best Defensive Player honors in 2022 and All-Region recognition in 2026.
Despite her achievements, Miller's path was not without adversity. During her junior year, she suffered a serious ankle injury that required surgery. The rehabilitation process tested her physically and mentally, but her determination and work ethic allowed her to return to competition and ultimately achieve her dream of playing collegiate volleyball.
Miller chose Fayetteville State after immediately connecting with the campus community during her visit.

She values the family atmosphere that defines the Bronco experience and appreciates the commitment coaches, teammates, and staff have toward helping student-athletes succeed in all areas of life.
One of the most influential people in Miller's life has been her father, Seneca Miller, whose support, guidance, and honesty have helped shape her into the athlete and person she is today.
Away from athletics, Miller enjoys shopping, creating TikTok content, bedazzling, baking, and spending time with family and friends. As a Business Administration major, she plans to pursue a career in banking and finance after graduation.
Miller has also made a commitment to serving others through community involvement. She has volunteered at youth volleyball camps, participated in Operation Christmas Child initiatives, helped organize chair volleyball activities at local nursing homes, and contributed to programs at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Her leadership experience includes serving as team captain for both the Cardinal Newman varsity volleyball team and varsity softball team.
Her most memorable athletic honor came when she was named Senior Athlete of the Year, an achievement she views as recognition of years of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance.
