Junior outside hitter Leticia "Lele" Nascimento brings international experience, leadership, and a proven winning mentality to the Fayetteville State University volleyball program. A native of Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil, Nascimento transferred from New Mexico Junior College, where she emerged as one of the top players in Region 5 competition.
At New Mexico Junior College, Nascimento earned NJCAA Region 5 All-Conference honors during the 2025-26 season and was recognized as an NJCAA Region 5 All-Tournament Team selection in consecutive seasons, establishing herself as a dynamic offensive threat and a consistent contributor on one of the region's top teams. She also served as a team captain, leading through accountability, work ethic, and encouraging teammates both on and off the court.
Nascimento chose Fayetteville State because of the winning culture and family atmosphere she experienced during the recruiting process.

A dedicated student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Nascimento plans to continue her education after graduation by earning a master's degree in Environmental Chemistry while also pursuing an additional year of competitive volleyball. Her ambition in the classroom mirrors the commitment she displays on the court.
Before competition, Nascimento focuses on mental preparation through journaling, visualization, and breathing exercises. She reads from her diary, repeats positive affirmations, and visualizes her goals to build confidence and maintain focus. She also finds motivation in music and the energy of her teammates as they prepare to compete together.
One of the most influential figures in her volleyball journey is Gabriela Guimarães, the Brazilian National Team star and one of the world's premier outside hitters. Nascimento admires Guimarães' leadership, skill, and dedication to excellence, drawing inspiration from her success at the highest levels of the sport.
Among her favorite athletic memories is winning a regional championship in Brazil at the U-15 level, a moment that fueled her passion for volleyball and inspired her pursuit of opportunities abroad. However, she considers earning the chance to compete in collegiate volleyball in the United States as the most memorable accomplishment of her career.

One of the greatest challenges Nascimento has overcome has been managing mental health struggles while continuing to compete at a high level. The experience strengthened her resilience, taught her the value of seeking support, and reinforced the importance of maintaining both mental and physical well-being.
Away from volleyball, Nascimento enjoys reading, watching movies, learning new languages, and discovering new ways to stay active. She is also passionate about community service and giving back through volunteer work. Her service efforts have included assisting at community events, helping with animal shelter programs, participating in park clean-up projects, and coaching young volleyball players at youth camps.
As she continues her collegiate career, Nascimento is focused on helping the Broncos compete for championships while pursuing excellence in both academics and athletics.
