Sophomore outside hitter Kemyah Harris brings athleticism, energy, and a team-first mentality to the Fayetteville State University women's volleyball program. A native of Elk Grove, California, Harris transferred from Jessup University and adds valuable experience and versatility to the Broncos' lineup.
Prior to her collegiate career, Harris starred at Christian Brothers High School, where she earned All-League honors twice, received All-League Academic recognition twice, and helped lead her team to the 2024 Section Championship. Her success on the court was matched by her performance in the classroom, demonstrating a commitment to excellence as both a student and athlete.
Harris chose Fayetteville State because of the welcoming environment and strong support system she experienced throughout the recruiting process.

Since arriving on campus, she has embraced the close-knit atmosphere that defines Bronco Athletics.

One of the most memorable moments of Harris' athletic career came during her high school years when she helped Christian Brothers capture a section championship. The accomplishment remains a highlight of her volleyball journey and represents the rewards of teamwork, hard work, and perseverance.
Before every match, Harris enjoys listening to music and dancing with her teammates, a routine that helps her stay relaxed and energized. Music also serves as an important part of her mental preparation, allowing her to focus and enter competition with a positive mindset.
Her greatest motivation comes from the teammates who share the court with her. Harris values the relationships built through volleyball and is driven by the opportunity to compete alongside people she cares about and trusts.
The biggest influence in her athletic career has been her father, Ray Harris. His support, guidance, and encouragement have helped shape her approach to competition and life, inspiring her to pursue her goals with confidence and determination.
One of the greatest challenges Harris has faced as an athlete was overcoming an injury. The experience taught her resilience, patience, and the importance of maintaining a positive mindset while working toward recovery.
Moving across the country to attend Fayetteville State has also been a transformative experience.
"Fayetteville State has shaped me by giving me the experience of being thousands of miles away from my family and learning what it is truly like to be on my own."
Away from volleyball, Harris enjoys spending time in the gym, hiking, and visiting the beach. She is pursuing a degree in Psychology and plans to continue her education with the goal of becoming a psychiatrist.
Committed to giving back, Harris has volunteered at youth volleyball camps and participated in community service events. She also served as a team captain during her high school career, demonstrating leadership both on and off the court.
