Biography

Sophomore middle blocker Erin Johnson brings size, athleticism, and leadership to the Fayetteville State volleyball program. A native of McDonough, Georgia, Johnson transferred from Albany State University and is pursuing a degree in Biology with plans to attend medical school and become a dermatologist.

Johnson developed into one of the top players in her region during a standout career at Eagle's Landing High School. She earned First Team All-Region honors in both 2023 and 2024 and served as team captain during those seasons. Her contributions on the court were recognized with the 2024 Offensive Player Award, highlighting her impact as a consistent offensive threat and leader for her team.

Drawn to Fayetteville State's supportive atmosphere and commitment to student-athlete success, Johnson found a university that aligned with her goals both academically and athletically. She values the strong sense of family within the Broncos community and appreciates being surrounded by coaches, teammates, professors, and staff who encourage her to strive for excellence.

Johnson approaches competition with a calm and focused mindset. Before matches, she enjoys listening to music to prepare mentally for the challenges ahead. Her motivation comes from the opportunity to compete and proudly represent Fayetteville State every time she steps onto the court.

One of the most influential people in Johnson's athletic journey has been her father, Eric Johnson Sr. She credits him for teaching her the importance of discipline, consistency, and self-belief. His support and guidance have helped shape her into the athlete and person she is today.

Away from volleyball, Johnson enjoys drawing and traveling, finding creative outlets and new experiences beyond the game. Her long-term aspirations reflect her commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics as she prepares for a future career in medicine.

As a member of the Broncos volleyball program, Johnson is focused on continuing to grow as a player, student, and leader while helping Fayetteville State compete at the highest level.
