Destiny Washington is a dynamic outside hitter and defensive specialist for the Fayetteville State University Broncos, known for her athleticism, versatility, and leadership on the court. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Destiny graduated from Discovery High School in 2023, where she earned Female Player of the Year honors and was named to the All-County Team in both 2022 and 2023.
Before transferring to FSU, Destiny competed at Life University, continuing to build her collegiate resume. At Fayetteville State, she was named to the 2024 All-Conference Academic Team, reflecting her commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
Destiny is majoring in Biology with a minor in Athletic Training, and she plans to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer. Off the court, she enjoys hiking, painting while listening to music, and has hidden talents in drawing, painting, and playing the viola.
She credits her mother, Yvonne, as the most influential person in her life, describing her as a strong, resilient woman who raised four daughters and overcame countless challenges. Destiny’s most memorable sports experience was leading her high school team to the state tournament for the first time in school history.
Destiny chose Fayetteville State University because of the amazing energy on campus, the supportive coaching staff, and the team’s winning mentality, saying it immediately felt like home. She also gives back to the sport by coaching high school and club volleyball, demonstrating her passion for mentorship and community involvement.
