Amori Johnson joins the Fayetteville State University women’s volleyball program as a freshman with a powerful presence at both the right side and middle blocker positions. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Johnson was a standout at Westlake High School, where she was a 3x varsity starter, team captain her senior year, and earned All-Region First Team honors. She was named Most Valuable Player in both her junior and senior seasons, finishing her high school career with over 500 kills and 100+ digs while leading her team to a state playoff appearance.
At FSU, Johnson continues to build on her success, already earning All-Region First Team recognition at the collegiate level. She is majoring in Computer Science and plans to pursue a career in civil engineering, combining her love for design and problem-solving with a passion for improving lives. She also hopes to mentor young athletes and give back to the volleyball community.
Off the court, Johnson is a talented artist who enjoys drawing, painting, listening to music, and spending time at the beach with friends and family. She credits her mother, Schelaundria Dorsey, as her greatest influence—teaching her resilience, compassion, and the value of hard work.
Her most memorable sports moment came during her senior year, when she led her team to a thrilling five-set victory in a packed gym, a match that solidified her growth as a leader and deepened her love for the game. Johnson chose Fayetteville State for its welcoming environment, strong team culture, and the belief the coaching staff showed in her both as an athlete and a person.
Her commitment to service is evident through her volunteer work at youth volleyball camps, food drives, neighborhood clean-ups, and toy drives for underserved children.
