Alyssa Cheek is a focused and energetic defensive specialist/libero for the Broncos, known for her quick reflexes and court awareness. A native of Winterville, North Carolina, Alyssa graduated from South Central High School in 2024 and began her collegiate journey at Pitt Community College, where she also competed in track and field.

Now a junior at Fayetteville State University, Alyssa is majoring in Nursing with aspirations to earn her BSN, then pursue an MSN to become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Her ultimate goal is to work in an adolescent inpatient mental health facility, combining her compassion and dedication to make a lasting impact in healthcare.

Off the court, Alyssa enjoys reading mystery books, building Legos, and watching TikTok. She has a quirky hidden talent—she can wiggle her ears. Alyssa credits her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as the most influential presence in her life, providing her with peace, strength, and purpose through every challenge.

Her most memorable sports experiences include the long bus rides home with teammates, moments filled with laughter and bonding. Alyssa chose FSU because of the strong sense of community and the reputation of its nursing program, knowing it was the right environment for her personal and academic growth.
