Fayetteville State University Athletics

Zaria Gool is a freshman point guard for the Fayetteville State University women’s basketball team, bringing energy, leadership, and a love for the game to the Broncos’ backcourt. A graduate of Winston-Salem Christian, Gool also competed in track and field, showcasing her athletic versatility and competitive spirit.

Majoring in Psychology, Gool plans to pursue a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology with aspirations of joining the FBI or earning her Ph.D. Her hidden talent for writing poetry and her love for reading, anime, and Marvel reflect her creative and thoughtful personality off the court.

Gool credits her mother, Celina Gool, as the most influential person in her life—someone who embodies resilience and grace, and whose unwavering faith and kindness continue to inspire her daily.

Her favorite sports memories include bonding with teammates over Mario Kart during travel games, highlighting the camaraderie and joy she finds in team experiences. She chose Fayetteville State for its electric game-day atmosphere, strong sense of community, and the opportunity to grow both as an athlete and individual in a supportive environment.
