Cameron Barfield

Cameron Barfield - a Wilmington, NC native - rejoined the Fayetteville State University Athletics staff as the Assistant Athletic Trainer in September 2019.  He primarily works with football, women's basketball, bowling, and golf programs. 

In Spring 2012, Barfield began serving as an athletic training at a collegiate level at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He completed three five-week rotations with the UNC Pembroke softball program, Red Springs High School, and Purnell Swett High School. 

Barfield also has experience from working with South Robeson High School (Fall 2012), the UNC Pembroke softball program (Spring 2013), Red Springs High School (Fall 2014), and UNC Pembroke women's basketball and soccer programs (Spring 2015). 

In 2015, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degrees in Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology at UNC Pembroke.

He first came to Fayetteville State University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in Fall 2017. He mainly worked with the football, women's basketball, and softball programs. 

In Fall 2018, Barfield joined Saint Augustine's University as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. He assisted in covering all ten varsity sports programs.

In 2021, he obtained his Master's of Science degree in Sports Management, Exercise Science, and Sport Studies at the California University of Pennsylvania.

Barfield is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association, North Carolina Athletic Trainers' Association, Athletic Training Student Association, and the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer of Red Cross.
