Fayetteville State University Athletics

Junior forward/center Nyla Powell brings size, versatility, and multi-sport athletic experience to the Fayetteville State women's basketball program. A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Powell joins the Broncos after competing at Louisburg College, where she continued her development as a collegiate student-athlete.

Before entering the college ranks, Powell attended Rocky Mount High School, where she showcased her athleticism across multiple sports. In addition to basketball, she competed in volleyball and track and field, demonstrating the versatility and competitive drive that she now brings to the hardwood.

At Fayetteville State, Powell is pursuing a degree in Intelligence and Business Skills (IBS) while continuing her academic and athletic growth. Her experience at both the junior college and high school levels has helped prepare her for the demands of competing in the CIAA and contributing to the Broncos' pursuit of conference and postseason success.

As a post player, Powell provides a strong presence in the paint and valuable depth to the Broncos' frontcourt. Her athletic background and dedication to improvement position her to make an impact on both ends of the floor.
