Fayetteville State University Athletics

Laila Lewis is a freshman small forward for the Fayetteville State University women’s basketball team, known for her rebounding dominance and team-first mentality. A standout at Rolesville High School, Lewis racked up over 600 career rebounds, earned a spot in MaxPreps’ Top 10 Rebounders in North Carolina, and set her school’s all-time rebounding record. Her accolades include three All-Conference selections, two All-Conference Tournament Team honors, and a state championship title.

Now at FSU, Lewis is pursuing a degree in Computer Science with aspirations to become an Information Security Analyst. Off the court, she enjoys spending time with friends and family and playing video games. She credits her parents as the most influential people in her life, recognizing their hard work and sacrifices as the foundation of her success.

Lewis chose Fayetteville State for its welcoming atmosphere, strong sense of community, and the supportive culture of the basketball program. From the moment she visited campus, she knew it was the right place to continue her academic and athletic journey.
