Fayetteville State University Athletics

Fayetteville State University's, Katrina Owens was drafted by the Minnesota Fillies of the Women's Professional Basketball League (WBL). Owens was the fifth player drafted in this year's WBL draft which began on Tuesday June 12th and will run through Thursday, June 14th. The 6 ft. 4 in. Owens was All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) three times during her standout career at Fayetteville State. This past season she led the Broncoettes to a 21-8 overall record that included the CIAA Championship and a trip to the National Association of Women's Sports (NAWS) Tournament. The Roseboro, NC native averaged 21 points and 21 rebounds on her way to capturing MVP honors in the CIAA Tournament and NAWS All-America honors.
