Brown was elevated to interim head coach in 2023 and immediately made history, guiding the Broncos to a record-breaking 29-3 season, a CIAA Tournament Championship, and the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen appearance. The following season, Brown led Fayetteville State to a second consecutive CIAA title, finishing 21-8 overall and 13-3 in conference play—marking the first back-to-back CIAA championships in program history.
