Sophomore sprinter and jumper Sanai Forte continues to emerge as a key multi-event contributor for the Fayetteville State University women’s track and field program. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Forte graduated from Harding University High School in 2024, where she helped power her team to statewide success—highlighted by winning a 2022 North Carolina state championship as part of the 4x200-meter relay.
Now competing for the Broncos, Forte specializes in the 200m, 400m, and long jump, bringing speed, strength, and consistent improvement to Coach Turner’s squad. As a freshman, she made an early impact on both the indoor and outdoor circuits, highlighted by placing third at the NCAA level as part of FSU’s 4x400-meter relay team. Her versatility has made her one of the Broncos’ most reliable point scorers across sprint and horizontal jump events.
Forte has already compiled an impressive collegiate résumé, including personal bests of 26.00 in the 200m, 59.41 in the 400m, and 5.36 meters (17'7") in the long jump. Throughout the 2025 season, she delivered strong performances at major meets such as the CIAA Indoor & Outdoor Championships, Aggie Invitational, Vertklasse Meet, HBCU Showcase, and the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, regularly contributing in open events and multiple relay squads. She was also a member of the Broncos’ relay teams that earned top finishes, including a first-place 4x400 at the 2025 Trojan Relays and a second-place finish in the 4x200 at the Shamrock Invitational.
A Biology major, Forte pursues her degree with the same determination she brings to the track. She credits her father, Ricky Forte, as the most influential person in her life, guiding and motivating her both athletically and personally. Her faith is also central to her growth—she lists reading her Bible as her favorite pastime, finding peace and grounding in her spiritual life.
Forte’s love for track began early, and she still recalls her middle-school track days as her most memorable sports experience—when the sport first became fun, competitive, and meaningful. She chose Fayetteville State University because Coach Turner recognized the potential in her, offering an environment where she could grow, be challenged, and excel.
Looking ahead, Forte is focused on continuing her upward trajectory on the track while trusting in her long-term path. When asked about her future goals, she says simply: “Whatever God has in plan for me.” With her talent, heart, and steady rise through the CIAA ranks, Forte is poised to continue making a significant impact for the Broncos in the seasons to come.
