ZyKayah Thomas is a versatile infielder for the Fayetteville State Broncos, contributing at both second base and shortstop. Wearing jersey number 2, the Columbia, South Carolina native stands at 5’2” and plays with speed and precision on defense. A right-handed hitter and thrower, Thomas brings energy and focus to the Broncos lineup.
In her redshirt sophomore season (2025), Thomas appeared in 10 games, starting five, and posted a .227 batting average with five hits and one RBI. She also added three walks, three stolen bases, and scored two runs, showing her ability to create opportunities on the base paths. Defensively, Thomas was flawless, recording 23 chances without an error for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, including 16 putouts and seven assists.
A graduate of A.C. Flora High School, Thomas is majoring in Mathematics with aspirations of becoming a civil engineer. Her academic goals align with her determination to succeed both on and off the field. She credits her parents as her greatest inspiration, saying they taught her resilience and hard work even through tough times.
One unique fact about ZyKayah? She is part Indian, a detail that adds to her individuality. Her favorite experience at FSU has been bonding with teammates—laughing, hanging out, and building friendships that last beyond the game.
