Terrell Ford is an experienced defensive back and emerging leader for the Fayetteville State football program. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ford combines athletic ability, academic excellence, and a passion for helping others as he continues his collegiate football career with the Broncos.
Ford attended Olympic High School, where he excelled in both football and track and field. As a senior, he earned All-Conference honors in the highly competitive So Meck 7 Conference and was recognized twice as a Track and Field All-State performer. His success across multiple sports showcased the speed, discipline, and versatility that have become hallmarks of his game.
At Fayetteville State, Ford has continued to distinguish himself both on and off the field. Entering the 2026-27 season, he earned Preseason All-Conference recognition, reflecting the respect he has garnered from coaches and peers throughout the conference. He also serves as a team captain, demonstrating the leadership qualities and accountability expected from one of the Broncos' veteran student-athletes.
A graduate student pursuing a degree in Psychology, Ford has ambitious plans for the future. Following the completion of his master's degree, he hopes to continue his football career at the professional level. If that opportunity does not materialize, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology and ultimately become a sports psychologist, with the long-term goal of serving as a Director of Sports Psychology at a Division I university.
Ford credits much of his athletic development to his family. His father, a former football player at West Virginia, and his brothers have been his greatest influences throughout his journey. With three of his brothers also pursuing college football careers, competition and support have always been part of the Ford family culture.
Before games, Ford has a unique routine that reflects his personality. A self-described "nerd," he enjoys watching motivational sports content, hype videos, and anime edits to get energized and locked in for competition. Away from football, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching his favorite series, One Piece, and making memories with his girlfriend.
Ford chose Fayetteville State because it immediately felt like home. He values the family atmosphere created by the coaching staff and athletics department and appreciates how student-athletes are supported both on and off the field. He believes the Broncos' culture is built on genuine care, accountability, and a shared desire to succeed.
Committed to giving back, Ford has participated in the Men Read Too program at Skurlock Elementary School, where volunteers read to children, including students with special needs. Through community engagement and leadership, he strives to make a positive impact beyond the football field.
As a team captain and respected veteran in the secondary, Ford enters the season focused on leading by example while helping Fayetteville State compete for championships. His combination of athletic achievement, academic ambition, and commitment to service embodies the values of the Broncos football program.
