Fayetteville State University Athletics

Before arriving at Fayetteville State, Melton starred at Kings Mountain High School, where he earned numerous accolades as one of the area's top defensive players. His honors included the prestigious Jeff Butkus Linebacker Award, two All-Conference selections, All-Area recognition, and an invitation to compete in the Queen City Senior Bowl. In addition to football, he excelled in baseball and wrestling, showcasing his competitive spirit across multiple sports.

In the classroom, Melton has continued to demonstrate his commitment to excellence, earning Dean's List honors while pursuing a degree in Sports Management. Following graduation, he plans to build a career as a sports therapist, combining his passion for athletics with helping others reach their full potential.

Melton credits his father as his biggest athletic influence, instilling in him the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance that have guided his journey as a student-athlete. Away from football, he enjoys fishing, hiking, riding motorcycles, and listening to music.

He chose Fayetteville State because of its strong Sports Management program and the opportunity to compete for championships. During his time with the Broncos, Melton has developed lifelong friendships and embraced the family atmosphere that defines the Fayetteville State experience.

As he continues his collegiate career, Melton remains focused on helping the Broncos succeed on the field while preparing for a future in the sports industry. His dedication to both academics and athletics reflects the qualities that make him an important part of the Fayetteville State football program.
