Ezekiel "Zeke" Cannedy enters his senior season at Fayetteville State University as a dynamic guard with a proven track record of excellence on the court. A native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Cannedy made his mark early in his career at Johnson C. Smith University, where he earned CIAA Freshman of the Year, All-CIAA First Team honors, and was named JCSU’s Most Valuable Player and recipient of the Pettis Norman Award.

At the high school level, Cannedy was a standout at Kings Mountain High School, earning Big South 3A Player of the Year and District 10 Player of the Year honors. He set multiple school records, including most points in a single season (878), most points in a game (57), and most three-pointers made in a game (10). He was also selected for both the NC vs. SC and NC East vs. West All-Star Games.

Since transferring to Fayetteville State, Cannedy has continued to shine, earning a spot on the 2024 Men's Basketball Preseason Team – Backcourt and surpassing the 1,000-point career milestone. Off the court, he is majoring in Sports Management and aspires to play professional basketball, coach, and train future athletes.

Cannedy credits Jesus as the most influential figure in his life, dedicating his performance and purpose to his faith. He chose FSU for its winning culture, strong fan support, and the opportunity to grow as both a player and a person. His community involvement includes working with “Time For Change,” a nonprofit summer program that supports youth development through education and recreation.
