Fayetteville State University Athletics

Omari Sanders-Richardson joins the Fayetteville State football program after transferring from Mars Hill University, where he developed into a reliable contributor in the Lions' secondary. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sanders-Richardson brings experience, athleticism, and versatility to the Broncos' defensive backfield. 

During his time at Mars Hill, Sanders-Richardson appeared in 11 games and recorded 40 total tackles, including 28 solo stops and 12 assisted tackles. He averaged 3.6 tackles per game while consistently providing support in both pass coverage and run defense. 

A product of West Mecklenburg High School, Sanders-Richardson has built a reputation as a physical and dependable defensive back who brings energy and competitiveness to every snap. His experience competing at the NCAA level has prepared him to make an immediate impact for the Broncos as they continue their pursuit of conference and national success. 

At Fayetteville State, Sanders-Richardson adds valuable depth and experience to the secondary. His ability to make plays in open space, contribute in run support, and provide veteran leadership will strengthen a Broncos defense known for its toughness and discipline.

As he begins the next chapter of his collegiate career, Sanders-Richardson looks to build upon his success at Mars Hill and help Fayetteville State compete at the highest level while continuing his growth on and off the field.
