Fayetteville State University Athletics

Jamari Slade is a seasoned linebacker for the Broncos, bringing leadership and experience to the defensive unit. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Slade graduated from Mount Tabor High School in 2021, where he was a 3x All-Conference selection and helped lead his team to a NCHSAA Football State Championship. He also competed in track, showcasing his athletic versatility.

At Fayetteville State University, Slade has continued to build on his success, contributing to the team’s 2022 CIAA Championship. Now a graduate student majoring in Cybersecurity, he also plans to earn a degree in Computer Science in the spring, preparing for a future in tech with aspirations to work in cybersecurity or software development.

Off the field, Jamari enjoys listening to old-school music and gaming. He credits his mother, Valencia Thomas, as the most influential person in his life for teaching him resilience and determination. His most memorable sports moments include winning both a state championship and a CIAA title, achievements that reflect his dedication and impact as a player.
