Timothy Reynolds, Jr. is an accomplished football coach and former standout collegiate quarterback, currently serving as the Quarterbacks Coach for the Fayetteville State University football program, a position he assumed in July 2025.
A native of Arlington, Virginia, Reynolds brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success at multiple levels of the game. Prior to joining Fayetteville State, he served as the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Averett University, where he guided three players to All-Conference honors in just one season.
Before his tenure at Averett, Reynolds spent two seasons (2022–2023) at Bridgewater College as the Quarterbacks Coach and Pass Game Coordinator. Under his leadership, the team posted a 16-4 record and developed All-Conference quarterback Jaicere Bateman. His earlier coaching journey includes a pivotal role at NAIA St. Andrews University, where he served as Associate Head Coach following stints as Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and Equipment Manager. At St. Andrews, Reynolds mentored the program’s first NAIA All-American and numerous All-Conference selections, and he was selected as Offensive Coordinator for the 2019 NAIA Senior Football Classic. He also served as Head Coach of the Podyum All-Star Bowl in Miami, Florida.
Reynolds began his coaching career in 2015 at Yorktown High School, where he was the freshman Defensive Coordinator and varsity Quarterbacks Coach. His commitment to youth development is longstanding, having worked with Arlington County youth football camps since 2008.
As a player, Reynolds was a dynamic dual-threat quarterback at Ferrum College from 2011 to 2014, after beginning his collegiate career at Florida A&M University. He remains Ferrum’s all-time leader in total touchdowns (63) and ranks among the program’s best in passing yards and rushing touchdowns. In 2012, he led Ferrum to a share of the USA South Athletic Conference title and was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. That same year, he was a finalist for the prestigious Willie Lanier Award and earned First Team All-Conference and All-State honors. His excellence on the field earned him a first-ballot induction into the Ferrum Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.
Beyond the gridiron, Reynolds is a passionate advocate for personal growth and community dialogue. In 2020, he launched Real Talk Sundays, a platform for open discussions on life and societal issues. He also co-created and taught The Course: Mind, Body, and Soul, a program focused on self-motivation and holistic development.
Reynolds holds a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance with an emphasis in exercise science and sport studies, along with a minor in coaching, from Ferrum College.
