Fayetteville State University Athletics

Nelson Soriano returned to Fayetteville State to join the football coaching staff during the 2021 season as the tight ends coach.  

Soriano is a 2012 graduate of Fayetteville State, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  

Before returning to FSU, Soriano gained valuable coaching experience and success at Westover High School, Carlsbad High School, and Fayetteville Christian School. He served as the Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers Coach, and Defensive Backs Coach.  

Soriano is a native of Queens, New York and fathers four boys.
