Biography

DJ Alston, a standout running back (RB), was born on December 27, 2001. Hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina, DJ attended Garner Magnet High School, graduating in 2020. At 5’11" and 215 pounds, he excelled in both track and field and football during his high school years.

DJ’s athletic journey continued at East Carolina University before transferring to FSU. He is currently a senior majoring in Digital Arts and is classified as a Redshirt Junior (R-Jr.) in football. DJ has been recognized for his academic achievements, and for being part of the Honors Program. Alston was named to the CIAA All-Rookie Team in 2022.

His career goals include setting records for the most rushing yards and touchdowns in a season and aspiring to become an offensive coordinator or running back coach at the NFL level. DJ’s parents, Chanteal Alston and Derrick Alston Sr., both graduated from ECSU.
