MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (March 22, 2026) – Fayetteville State continued its dominance of CIAA women's bowling Sunday, defeating Bowie State 4–2 in the championship match at Bowlero Bowling to claim its fourth consecutive CIAA Women's Bowling Championship.

Senior Paige Rockwell was named CIAA Championship Most Valuable Player for the fourth time in her career, once again leading Fayetteville State with steady performances throughout the tournament. The Broncos also placed three athletes on the CIAA All-Tournament Team, the most of any program.

Freshman Hannah Cunningham led all honorees with a 177.67 average during championship play, while Rockwell and senior Ericka Reed rounded out Fayetteville State's all-tournament selections, highlighting the balance of youth and experience behind the Broncos' continued championship success.

The Broncos completed an undefeated run through the tournament, closing out the title match in a best-of-seven Baker format behind consistent scoring and veteran composure. The victory marked Fayetteville State's 10th straight appearance in the CIAA championship match, further solidifying the program's position as the conference's standard.

Fayetteville State entered the championship as the top seed following a perfect 48–0 regular season and carried that momentum throughout the weekend. The Broncos opened with a 2–0 win over Virginia Union before defeating Bowie State in winners bracket play. On day two, Fayetteville State earned a direct berth to the final with a 2–0 victory over Elizabeth City State, remaining unbeaten heading into the championship.

Bowie State advanced to the title match through the elimination bracket to force a rematch, but Fayetteville State's depth and consistency proved decisive. After Bowie State extended the series, the Broncos answered to secure the 4–2 win and another conference crown.
