CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fayetteville State cross country delivered a strong performance at the Queen City Invitational on Friday, with the men's team placing fifth overall and the women's team finishing 14th in a competitive field featuring NCAA Division I and II programs.
In the men's 8K race, Fayetteville State scored 191 points to finish behind Charlotte (23), North Carolina (51), Augusta (121), and Milligan (180). Franklin Kipchirchir led the Broncos with a sixth-place individual finish, clocking 24:26.0. He was followed by Brian Kiprop (25:02.7), Dominic Malel (25:33.1), Ian Kiprono (26:09.3), and Rowny Kipchirchir (27:01.6).

In the women's 5K race, Wake Forest (27), Charlotte (40), and Emory (133) claimed the top three team spots. Fayetteville State was led by freshman Faith Kiplimo, who placed 24th overall with a time of 17:58.5. Brenda Cheboi (19:49.5), Pelisha Kosgei (19:56.2), Repline Cheptoo (20:41.7), and Holley Johnson (23:24.6) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.

Fayetteville State will return to competition on Friday, September 20, at the Wingate Bulldog Stampede in Wingate, N.C., as the Broncos continue their fall schedule.
