Biography

Pelisha Kosgei is a sophomore distance runner for the Fayetteville State University women’s cross country team, competing in the 5000m and 3000m events. Originally from Eldoret, Kenya, Kosgei graduated from Olaare Secondary School and transferred to FSU from Crowder College, where she earned All-American honors and an academic award for her excellence both on the course and in the classroom.

Kosgei is majoring in Nursing and aspires to apply her skills to real-world challenges, contributing to development across various industries. Known for her ability to motivate teammates and her strong work ethic, she also competed at the regional level during her high school career.

Outside of athletics, Kosgei enjoys swimming and credits her mother as the most influential person in her life for her unwavering support and guidance. She chose Fayetteville State for its strong academic programs, supportive learning environment, and the coaching staff’s commitment to student-athlete success.
