PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Ezekiel Cannedy collected 21 points, but the Fayetteville State men's basketball team fell to the Lincoln (PA) Lions 58-57 on the road Tuesday.

Lincoln (PA), now holding a record of 10-5 overall and 5-0 in the CIAA, saw standout performances from key players Peter Sorber and Reggie Hudson. Sorber led the Lions with 17 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while Hudson contributed 16 points, five assists, and two steals.

Cannedy's 21-point effort led the Broncos (9-6, 2-3). Tairell Fletcher helped out with 11 points and seven assists, and Caleb Simmons chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds. Led by Isaiah Ray's five offensive rebounds, Fayetteville State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 15 boards that resulted in 19 second-chance points.

The Fayetteville State defense was a problem in Tuesday's game, forcing 14 Lincoln (PA) turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 11 points on the other end of the floor. Ray led the way individually for the Broncos with one steal.

After falling behind 21-16, Fayetteville State went on a 13-0 run with 5:48 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Fletcher, to take a 29-21 lead. The Broncos then lost some of that lead but still entered halftime with a 31-25 advantage. Fayetteville State took advantage of eight offensive rebounds to score 12 second-chance points out of 31 total in the period.

Fayetteville State kept its lead intact before going on a 10-0 run, finished off by Fletcher's jumper, to grow the lead to 41-27 with 13:13 to go in the contest. Lincoln (PA) then asserted control, outscoring the Broncos 31-16 the rest of the way to hand Fayetteville State the 58-57 loss. Fayetteville State made the most of seven offensive rebounds to tack on seven second-chance points out of 26 total in the period.
