JACKSON, TN --Chiara Vittoni recorded a triple-double with 15 kills, 14 digs, and 13 assists to propel the Fayetteville State volleyball team to a 3-1 win (16-25, 25-17, 29-27, 25-20) against the Lane Dragons Saturday on the road at J F Lane Gymnasium.
The non-conference victory improved Fayetteville State's overall record to 3-0 on the season.
The Broncos were led by a double-double from Vittoni, who registered 15 kills and 14 digs on the day. Jourdan Page also added 14 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Tione Freeman chipped in for with 12 digs to go with four blocks from Christina Pratcher.
Fayetteville State showcased resilience and determination in their volleyball match against Lane. Despite dropping the first set 25-16, the Broncos bounced back with a 25-17 win in the second set, taking control early. The third set was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, featuring six lead changes and 14 ties, but Fayetteville State emerged victorious with a 29-27 win, thanks to strong defensive play and capitalizing on Lane's errors. The Broncos sealed the match with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set, overcoming three lead changes to secure their third straight set win and clinch the match.
