Fayetteville, NC – The Fayetteville State men's basketball team is set to face off against the Golden Bulls this Thursday, February 8th, for Greek Night. Game time begins at 7:30 pm following the women's game at 5:30 pm, in the Felton J. Capel Arena.
The doubleheader will be streamed live on the FSU Broncos Sports Network.
The History
- FSU and JCSU will meet for the second time this season.
- FSU won their first matchup against JCSU this season, 70-57.
- The Broncos are 7-3 in their last 10 matchups against the Golden Bulls.
- The Broncos split the season series vs JCSU last season (44-43 at home, 63-71 at JCSU).
About the Broncos
The Broncos (13-10 Overall, 8-5 CIAA) fell to the Shaw Bears yesterday, Feb. 6, 63-76. Team leaders Caleb Simmons and Tairell Fletcher were responsible for 60 percent of the Broncos' points. Simmons notched a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Fletcher had 18 points and six rebounds.
Senior guard Khalil Ridges, second highest team leader in steals and assists, also added five points and two steals. This week, Ridges was also selected for CIAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Also, senior forward Kaleb Coleman was selected for CIAA Overall Player of the Week this week.
The Broncos look to keep up their 4-0 at-home winning streak this Thursday.
About the Golden Bulls
JCSU (11-9 Overall, 6-7 CIAA) fell to the Winston-Salem Rams, on Feb. 1, 52-77. Team leaders include Ezekiel Cannedy with 10 pts, Avery Huggins with four rebounds, and Cedric Patterson with two assists.
They have had a week-long break since then, and this Thursday will be their first time back in action.
