Fayetteville State Women’s Basketball Travels to Claflin Wednesday

Fayetteville, NC – FSU Women's Basketball is set to travel to Orangeburg, SC to face off against the Lady Panthers this Wednesday, Feb. 21. Game time begins at 5:30 pm followed by the men's game at 7:30 pm.

The doubleheader will be streamed live on the CIAA Sports Network website.

The History
  • FSU and Claflin will be meeting for the second time this season.
  • FSU won their first matchup against Claflin this season, 67-50.
  • The Broncos are 10-0 in their last 10 matchups against the Panthers.
  • The Broncos won the season series vs Claflin last season (W 63 - 53 Home, W 76 - 52 Away).

About the Broncos
The Broncos are currently 15-1 in conference play and 22-2 overall. They recently secured their 12-0 at-home winning streak vs Livingstone last Saturday, Feb. 17. Since the Broncos and the Panthers met last time,  the Broncos have been on a 5-0 winning streak (St. Augustine's 72-62, Shaw 59-44, Johnson C. Smith 64-56, Winston-Salem 48-47, Livingstone 75-66).

In their most recent game vs Livingstone, the Broncos had two players score in double figures, led by Aniylah Bryant, who had 18 points and eight steals. Talia Trotter tacked on 17 points and two steals and Keayna McLaughlin added six points, five assists, and two steals.

Fayetteville State forced 32 Livingstone turnovers, turning them into 32 points on the other end of the floor.

About the Panthers
Claflin is currently 10-6 in conference play and 16-8 overall. Since the Panthers and the Broncos met last time, the Panthers have maintained a 5-0 winning streak (Shaw 87-77, Livingstone 74-65, Winston-Salem 56-45, Shaw 66-64, St. Augustine's 75-61).

In their most recent game vs St. Augustine's, Claflin had three players score in double figures. Junior guard Lauren Scott led with 19 points, and senior guard Nya Morris had 15 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. Leigha Harris added 13 points and five rebounds.
