Simmons' MVP performance leads Fayetteville State over Tuskegee 64-54

In a thrilling HBCU All-Stars Challenge match-up held at Clark Atlanta University's L.S. Epps Gym on November 16, 2024, Fayetteville State triumphed over Tuskegee with a final score of 64-54, improving their record to 3-1 while Tuskegee fell to 0-4.
 
Caleb Simmons was a standout performer earning the MVP award, scoring 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and converting 5-of-7 free throws. Tairell Fletcher also made significant contributions, netting 15 points and dishing out 5 assists. Myles Pierre chipped in with 12 points off the bench.
 
Fayetteville State established an early lead, finishing the first half with a solid 33-22 advantage.
 
The second half showcased Tuskegee's determination as they outscored Fayetteville State 32-31, led by Kusamae Draper's 16 points and 5 rebounds. Kevin Sesberry added to the effort with 14 points and 7 rebounds and D'Anthony Pennington's 12 points. Despite their resilience, Tuskegee couldn't overcome the deficit established in the first half.
 
Fayetteville State was impressive in free throws with a percentage of 76.9% (20-of-26). With their sturdy defense and efficient scoring, Fayetteville State will look to continue their winning streak in the next game on Wednesday, November 20 at Augusta (Ga.).
