CHARLESTON, WV --The Fayetteville State volleyball team fell to the Gannon Golden Knights in four sets (18-25, 13-25, 25-23, 13-25) Friday at Wehrle Innovation Center.
The non-conference loss moved Fayetteville State to 2-4 on the season.
A'Lexus Everett finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Broncos attack. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Aliyah Brown had 13 and Casandra Watson had 12. From the front row, Chiara Vittoni contributed five blocks and Anjola Thomas added five rejections.

SET 1 | The Broncos fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-18. Fayetteville State trailed by as many as 12 points as Gannon never gave up the lead in a set that was notted up zero times before the Golden Knights took control.
SET 2 | A 25-13 set-two loss put Fayetteville State behind two sets to none in the match. The Broncos lost the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Fayetteville State rallied back to pull within two sets to one, winning their first set of the match in the third stanza. The Broncos took the lead for good at 24-23 in a set that showcased four lead changes before Fayetteville State took over in the second half of the stanza. They then carried that lead to a 25-23 set win. Fayetteville State's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Gannon attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Fayetteville State couldn't keep the rally going and fell in set four 25-13 to drop the match. The Broncos trailed by as many as 12 points as Gannon grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 and Fayetteville State wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up six times before the Golden Knights took over.
