Baltimore, MD -- Fayetteville State University will see its first action of the 2023 CIAA Women's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday, February 22 at 2:20 in the afternoon. The CIAA no. 1 seeded Broncos will face the no. 8 seeded Johnson C. Smith University in the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, MD.

Aniylah Bryant was named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference Team by the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches and Sports Information Directors Associations on Monday, February 20 at the annual Tip-Off Banquet in Baltimore. Head Women's Basketball Coach
Serena King-Coleman and Director of Athletics Todd Bennett received the Southern Division Title trophy after FSU finished number one in the South with a 9-1 record.
Bryant, a native of Havelock, NC majoring in digital arts, leads the Broncos in scoring with 12.8 points per game. She ranks in the top ten in scoring within the conference and third in steals. Aniylah scored a season-high 25 against Livingstone.
Fayetteville State finished the regular season with a 14-2 conference for the number one seed for the tournament. FSU had an 18-6 overall record. The Broncos received a BYE for the first round of the tournament.
The Broncos swept the Golden Bulls in the regular season, 70-60 in Fayetteville and 60-59 in Charlotte. In the first matchup,
Imani Elliott had 23 points and
Rasheka Simmons tacked on a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Morgan Graham added six points, three steals, and five blocks. In the last contest,
Morgan Graham led the Broncos with ten points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
Aniylah Bryant tacked on seven points, six assists, and two steals and
London Thompson chipped in as well with eight points and seven rebounds.
