WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD FINISH FOURTH AT ADIDAS TROJAN CHALLENGE

MOUNT OLIVE, NC (March 26, 2022) - Fayetteville State women's track and field team finished fourth (69.5 points) at the Adidas Trojan Challenge in Mount Olive, NC hosted by the University of Mount Olive. Five Broncos finished with top-ten performances with a couple snagging first-place medals.

The weekend started on Friday, March 25, where Queen Burnett, Mya Johnson, Biana Belfon, and Teanna Bell led the second-place 4x100 meter relay squad that ran a time of 47.58 seconds behind UNC-Pembroke.

The second leg of the first 4x100 relay team and sprinter Johnson captured first place during the 100-meter hurdles crossing the finish line in 14.30 seconds.

Activating the Broncos in the field events, Shania Ingram cleared 1.70 meters to secure first place in the high jump.

Seizing third place in hurdles for FSU, Micah Bernard ran the 400-meter hurdle race in 1:09 seconds.

With a hop-step-and jump of 10.68 meters, Bianca Belfon finished second in the triple jump in front of five others.

Teanna Bell placed third in the 400-meter dash with a posted time of 58.76 seconds.

Five other Broncos finished the weekend events with top-ten performances.

Mercy Chemutai came across the finish line in eighth place for the Broncos with a time of 20:43 seconds. Kyra Webb captured fifth place for the Broncos in the discus throw field event throwing 37.86 meters.

Danielle Davis came in sixth place during the 400-meter hurdles behind Bernard with a run time of 1:15 seconds.

Rounding out the field events for the Broncos, Kristina Moore (tied with UNCP Taya McKeithan) and Zenovia May completed the long jump event marking 4.81 meters (6th place) and 4.85 meters (8th place), respectively.
