
Institute, WV – On the final day of the MEC/PSAC/CIAA Conference Challenge, Fayetteville State blasted Notre Dame (Ohio), 88-54, for its first victory of the season in Institute, West Virginia.
Aniylah Bryant followed her Bronco debut of 23 points against West Virginia State (yesterday) with a 21-point performance against the Falcons (0-2 overall).
Fayetteville State (1-1 overall) jumped to an early 21-13 lead after the first quarter and held a 42-28 advantage at the half.
Rasheka Simmons, who was the Broncos' second-leading scorer with 14 points, led the half with 12.
Keayna McLaughlin and
Grace McAllister each scored 13 points.
Mikaela Jones pulled down 13 boards with 8 points while
London Thompson dished out five assists and finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
FSU made 52.4% (33-63) of its field goals and was 85.7% (18-21) from the charity stripe. Notre Dame (Ohio) was 19-of-69 (27.5%) from the field and shot a bleak 7-of-30 three-pointers.
Fayetteville State will host its home-opener on Wednesday, November 17
th against UNC Pembroke at 6 pm in Capel Arena.
