Cary, NC -- Fayetteville State's women's cross-country team finished fourth out of nine non-division I teams at the Adidas XC Challenge on Friday, September 17. The meet was hosted by NC State at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.

The Bull City Running Club won the division, with 27 points, followed by the NCSU Club who finished second (50 points). Meredith College edged out FSU by 25 points. The Broncos finished with an average 5K time of 22:30 with seven runners.

Mercy Chemutai was the lead runner for Fayetteville State with a 17
th place finish for 14 points. She finished the 5-kilometer race in a time of 21:44.6 and an average mile of 6:59.9.Â

The Broncos had a final score of 100 points.

The men's non-D1 6-kilometer race was won by the NC State Club. FSU finished sixth overall with 160 points and an average time of 28:42.

Charles Pumbu led the charge for the men's program with a 38
th place finish. His 8K time of 23:37 earned the team 23 points.
Jaylaan Poe earned 30 points, crossing the line as the 54
th runner out of 74.

th at the Greensboro XC Invitational in Greensboro, NC.
