
Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State defeated Claflin University 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, and 25-15) in a key divisional CIAA Southern Division matchup. The Broncos (16-6 overall and 10-2 in the CIAA) improved to 7-0 in the division while the Panthers now trail by two games at 5-2.
Kalee Vanderhorst led the match with 11 kills.
Da'Nesha Miller (the CIAA Offensive Player of the Week) missed out on a triple-double by one kill. She finished with 9 kills, 18 assists, and 12 digs.
Fayetteville State played a solid defensive match with 46 digs and 11 blocks.
Jasmine Jacinto, this week's CIAA Defensive Player of the Week, finished with 14 kills and
Ashlyn Bradley had a total of five blocks.
Xiamana Spikes and Vanderhorst each had four blocks.
Mya Broom led the Claflin (11-9 overall and 8-5 in conference play) with six kills and two blocks.
