Fayetteville State Hands Shaw an 86-41 Loss in Spaulding Gym

Raleigh, NC – It was all about consistency for Fayetteville State as the Broncos defeated Shaw 86-41 in Raleigh, NC. Senior guard Katisha Hyman was the leading scorer with 22 points in 26 minutes and dished out five assists and had seven steals.
 
The Broncos may not have had the start it wanted in the tight confines of the Spaulding Gymnasium with the Bears leading 16-15 after the first quarter. It was business as usual in the second as Fayetteville State dominated the quarter 17-9 to take a 32-25 halftime lead.
 
The intensity increased after intermission with a 32-10 third quarter. The Broncos' second team dominated the fourth quarter outscoring the Bears 22-6 to keep the pressure on.
 
Shantel Bennett finished with 16 points and London Thompson scored 14. Every Bronco except one that played scored at least one point. Chantel Williams led the game with five assists.
 
Amani Moxley led the Bears with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
 
The Broncos shot 50% (36-72) from the field to the Bears 28.6% (16-56).
 
Fayetteville State will honor its seniors on Saturday, February 22 following the final game of the regular season versus Saint Augustine's.
