Salisbury, N.C. – The Fayetteville State women's tennis team is back in the win-column with a 7-0 victory over Livingstone College in CIAA Southern Division action on the courts of Salisbury High School in Salisbury, N.C. Saturday afternoon.
The Broncos improve to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in conference play with the win. Livingstone is 0-9 on the season.
FSU gained a point in doubles action when
Kristin Jackson and
Jayla Wooten defeated Samone Mitchell and Mariah Mason (6-2) and
Brittany Doss and
Zyaja Mattocks knocked off Jamyse Bell and Brianna Hunter (6-1).
Fayetteville State also swept through singles competition.
Kristin Jackson captured the No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Mariah Mason.
Arnisha Cosby did the same at No. 2 over Samone Mitchell.
Kayla Williams defeated Brianna Hunter 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 3.
Lauryn Clark had the same margin of victory over Jasmine Bell at the fourth spot.
Amber Gladden swept through Paula Ngunza for a No. 5 singles at 6-0, 6-0.
Jayla Wooten won by forfeit with no opponent at #6 singles.
The Broncos will have a rematch against the Blue Bears on Wednesday, April 10
th on Capel Arena Courts at 1 p.m.
