Richmond, VA – The Fayetteville State men's basketball nine-game win streak comes to an end with a 61-58 loss in Virginia Union's Barco-Stevens Hall.
Fayetteville State (9-1 overall; 2-1 CIAA) led by as many as 14 points early in the second half and by nine (56-47) with less than four minutes to go. Four consecutive Bronco turnovers and five fouls gave way for Virginia Union (6-4, 2-0) to capture its first lead and eventual victory.
Jalen Seegars (Greensboro, NC) fouled out of the game with seven minutes left and with 14 points from 6-of-10 shooting from the floor and two three-pointers. Darion Dixon (Bowie, MD) led the game with 16 points with 8-of-8 free throws made.
Denzell Hosch scored 11.
Keshon Tabb led Virginia Union with 15 points; for which all of them came from three pointers. Tyriek Railey had 13 points and Terrell Leach finished with 11. The Panthers scored 26 points from FSU's 21 turnovers.
Fayetteville State will play host to Elizabeth City State on Monday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Capel Arena.
