Shepherdstown, WV – Fayetteville State's
Katisha Hyman poured in a career high 35 points against Pitt-Johnstown but it wasn't enough in an 86-85 loss to the Mountain Cats. It was a shooter's game as two players from PJU paired for a total of 64 points.
Hyman's career-best performance came from 13-of-19 field goals and 6-of-8 three-pointers with a perfect three free throws.
Alyssa Thompson scored 14 points and
Shantel Bennett along with
Shenell Davis contributed 11 and 10, correspondingly.
The Broncos led 45-42 at halftime and held a 13-point lead (81-71) with 4:03 remaining in the game.
A Mountain Cats 10-0 run cut the game to 81-78 with the help of four Bronco fouls with a little over two minutes left. FSU's offense stalled with 1:52 on the clock and a three-pointer by Alli McGrath knotted the game at 83-all.
Gabrielle Smith netted 3-of-4 free throws for a three-point advantage until the Broncos'
Chantel Williams scored a layup with seven seconds left in the game. The FSU defense that forced a game total of 21 turnovers and converted them to 25 points made the final one with four seconds left, but the Broncos potential game winning layup before regulation expired rimmed out.

Fayetteville State will travel to UNC Pembroke on Wednesday, November 13
