Fayetteville, NC – Fayetteville State is 7-2 overall in three-set matches for the season. The Broncos finished off Winston-Salem State in three sets tonight (Oct. 24
th) in Capel Arena by sets of 27-25, 25-16, and 25-22.
Diamond Holmes led all with nine kills while
Chynna Hunt and
Xiamana Spikes followed with seven each.
Jasmine Jacinto was all over the court with 28 digs. Nakia McKinnie and
Da'Nesha Miller had 19 and 12 assists, respectively and Miller also assisted with 11 digs.
The Broncos came from behind in the first set to win 27-25 and controlled the momentum in the following sets.
Miranda Taylor kept the sets close for the Rams finishing with eight kills of her own. Three players finished with double-digit digs and the team as a whole finished with 12 blocks.
Fayetteville State will travel to Livingstone on Monday, October 28 to face the Blue Bears of Livingstone College and return to Capel Arena on Halloween night for a trick or treat match with Claflin University. Both matches with serve at 6 p.m.
