Raleigh, N.C. – Fayetteville State scored the most points this season, but the Broncos suffered a 107-87 loss to Shaw in Spaulding Gymnasium.
Shaw (10-10 overall, 5-6 CIAA) took early control in the first half finishing with a 51-33 lead. Fayetteville State (3-15; 2-9 CIAA) had a better second half but couldn't close the 20-point deficit.
Xavier Williams (Fayetteville, N.C.) and
Denzell Hosch (Shelby, N.C.) led the effort with 17 points.
Joshua Bryant (Fayetteville, N.C.) finished with 12 while post-players
Markeise Crutchfield (Durham, N.C.) and
Jaylin Gamble (Greensboro, N.C.) had 11 and 10, respectively.
Four of Shaw's starters scored in double-figures. Amir Hinton led the game with 33 points while DeVaughn Kelsie finished with 15. Derrick Randolph had 13 points and Davon Dillard hit a dozen.
