Fayetteville, NC -- The Fayetteville State Broncos are on a five-game win-streak with a 71-58 win over the Lincoln University Lions in CIAA Basketball action at the Felton J. Capel Arena.
Head coach Serena King-Coleman added in a post-game interview that she was pleased with how her veterans stepped up and made adjustments throughout the game.
"There was a point in the game where I felt like we were struggling, but my veterans stepped up," said Coach King-Coleman. "Yakima finished with no turnovers, [Aminata] Johnson contributed a double-double and what more can you ask for from a young post player."
The Broncos (8-4 overall, 3-1 CIAA) ended the Lions' streak of two game, dropping Lincoln to a 7-8 and 1-3 conference record.
Katisha Hyman, Yakima Clifton, and Aminata Johnson were the game changers for tonight's victory.
Hyman earned a game-high of 23 points. Clifton finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Johnson earned a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Brittany Drumgoole also added 11 points off the bench.
FSU jumped out on the Lions in a full court press and added intense pressure to force the Lions into 22 turnovers.
The Lions had two players finish with in double-figures; Kwana Murray with 17 points and Dominique Allen with 10.
The Broncos will face Virginia Union on Saturday, January 12th  in Felton J. Capel Arena at 2:00 p.m. Admission for this weekend's double-header is FREE to all patrons.
