Box Score Salisbury, NC – Fayetteville State (2-2 overall) dropped a 76-56 road loss to Catawba (1-2 overall) in non-conference women's basketball action in Salisbury, N.C.
Aminata Johnson led the effort with 12 points and nine rebounds while
Brittany Drumgoole was the only other Bronco to score in double figures with ten points. Catawba led 42-29 at halftime.
In a physical contest, 47 personal fouls were called throughout the game. Thirty-two of them were charged to the Broncos. The Indians made 75.8% of its free throws making 25 of 33 from the charity stripe. FSU made four of nine free throws.
Fayetteville State had the better shooting percentage from the floor (41.7%) with 25-of-60 field goals made compared the Catawba's 22-of-60 shots made. Catawba had seven made three-pointers and held a 51-30 advantage in rebounds.
The Indians' Taisha DeShazo led the game with 21 points while four of her teammates also finished in double-digit points.
