Salisbury, NC - Fayetteville State is back on track after sweeping the Blue Bears of Livingstone 3-0. Nia Bell (Elizabeth City, NC) led the match with ten (10) kills on 25 attacks in the Broncos 25-9, 25-19, and 25-11 wins. FSU improves to 17-7 overall, 11-2 in conference play, and 4-1 in the division.

Fayetteville State jumped to a quick 6-1 lead in the first set and wasted no time ending the set at 25-9. The Broncos had 11 kills compared to Livingstone's three.

The second set was more of a match with seven score ties and one lead change. The match played close, up until the tied score of 15-15. FSU spaced itself with a 3-0 run but Livingstone (3-15, 3-10 CIAA, 0-5 Division) climbed within striking distance at 21-19 mark. A kill by Bojo Jada (Jamestown, NC) and the blocking duo of Chynna Hunt (Summerville, SC) and Jada set Nakia McKinnie (Niceville, FL) for the final kill of the set and a 25-19 win.

Fayetteville State made easy work of the third set with an early 11-2 lead. After giving up two points, FSU preceded on a 6-0 run (17-4) before a Livingstone timeout. Afterwards, the Blue Bears created a 5-3 run to inch closer at 20-9, which forced FSU to call a timeout of its own. Bojo Jada would lead the Broncos on a 5-2 run with two kills and an assisted block to complete the sweep with a 25-11 set.

Jada finished the match with eight (8) kills and two (2) blocks. Chynna Hunt had seven (7) kills and two (2) blocks.

The Broncos are on a two-match win streak after losing 3-1 to rival Winston-Salem State last Monday. FSU will travel to Mount Olive on Saturday, October 28 to take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m.
