Final Stats

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Khalia Boston scored 15 of her career-high 25 points in the first half to lead Livingstone to an 89-78 victory over the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos on Saturday night at Felton J. Capel Arena.

Brittany Wright added 19 points and seven rebounds while Rashida Elbourne had 16 points, Montiya Harrison had 12 and Jasmine Murray had 10 and for the Lady Blue Bears (14-6, 8-4, 3-3).

Fayetteville State (6-16, 4-9, 1-5), which got a career-high 28 points from LaQuasha Jordan (Jr., Greenville, NC), got off to a quick start in the game, rushing out to an 18-7 lead less than 7 minutes into the game. Jordan buried two 3-pointers and reigning CIAA Rookie of the Week Capricia Smalls (Fr., McLeansville, NC) had five points to help Fayetteville State get out of the gates early.

The Lady Broncos made six of their first 10 shots to fuel the run, but quickly cooled off.

And that's when Boston began to heat up. She made three 3s in quick succession to spark a 12-3 run that tied the game at 19, and the Lady Blue Bears were off and running. By the end of the half, Livingstone had outscored the Lady Broncos 35-14 over the last 13:42 to take a 42-32 edge into the break.

Fayetteville State managed to trim the deficit to seven early in the half, but that was as close as the Lady Broncos could get. Livingstone led by as much as 29 points in the second half, though FSU closed the game on an 18-0 run.

"We didn't quit, and that was really good to see," said FSU head coach Eva Patterson-Heath.

Jordan hit 7 of 11 shots, making four 3-pointers. Tiffany Haywood added 13 points and seven rebounds. Amanda Sinclair (Jr., Red Springs, NC) had a game-high 10 rebounds. Tierra Coleman (So., Cameron, NC) added eight points.
